My name is Ksenija. I won’t even try to explain how to pronounce it as all of my attempts so far proved to be more or less unsuccessful. But I will try to tell you a story about my sewing journey.

I guess I always loved sewing. Doing crafts in general just felt right. Since very young age I was drawing fashion figures and imagined clothes for them. I made clothes for my dolls, some sewn by hand, some even knitted. When I was a teenager, I would come up with an idea and asked my mom to make it reality, cause I never actually learned to sew on a sewing machine at the time. And somehow, I just left all of it and grew up. I didn’t go to fashion school, or any creative collage, it was all in the past.

But the idea of sewing never left completely. In 2019. I got my first sewing machine as a gift for my birthday. And I finally started learning. Video by video, pattern by pattern, I discovered wonderful sewing community online and haven’t stopped sewing since.

I had this idea of drafting my own patterns also for quite some time, but really, didn’t know where to start. Until, I found Confident patternmaking. Well, I hesitated for a while, maybe even for a few years, and finally decided it is time in October 2024. That is where my pattern drafting started. I finished the course by February 2025 and the work on my sewing patterns just continues ever since.

I have to say, it is not always easy, but most of the time I am enjoying the process
